The Origin Story (or how it all started)

It all started a few birthdays ago...

Growing up, my mother taught us that birthdays are our own personal new years. So, every year around that time I like to take a bit of self inventory. If it's a "big one" (with a 5 or a 0), I lean in on the "big" questions. I check my titles...

• Woman
• Mother
• Wife
• World Citizen

...etc... and ask myself how I am doing.  The top three are self-explanatory. The last one is the one most relevant to this story. 

I believe God created each of us as ONE of ONE and that as such, there is at least ONE unique thing that each ONE of us is born to bring to the universe in our lifetime.  We each have different gifts, interests, and skill sets that are meant to impact us as individuals and then overflow into the world at large.  Therefore, we are all influencers.

This last decade has shown that to be true more than ever before. The politics, the music, the social media platforms are full of personal thoughts, opinions, feelings, and energies that align and combine to impact our lives for better or worse.

A few birthdays ago, my self-inventory led me to see that my core was not as balanced as it needed to be.  I started spending more time doing the things that I love...aka the things that "light" me up. My personal resolution that year was to be consistently intentional about living in alignment with my understanding of who I am at my core and what I am born to do.  To help me stay on task, my personal affirmation became "LIVE LIFE LIT"

This brings us back to this part: I believe God created each of us as ONE of ONE and that as such, there is at least ONE unique thing that each ONE of us is born to bring to the universe in our lifetime.  We each have different gifts, interests, and skill sets that are meant to impact us as individuals and then overflow into the world at large.  Therefore, we are all influencers.

When life gets LOUD, it can drown out the truth of who we are and why we are. My creative gifts have helped me to break through that noise- personally, professionally, and spiritually. 

One Life Live Lit blog & boutique is about me trying to be intentional with the words and energy I put out into the world. To me, the greatest weapon in the war against any powers of darkness is to simply do our best to stay lit!
