🌿 Protect Your Peace: Living Lit with Power, Love, and a Sound Mind

How to fight for your peace and start each day lit from within.

“With everything that's going on around us, if you do not make a conscious effort to stay in your right mind... you WON’T!” — Mysellations 10:18

Introduction

The craziness is designed to make us crazy. Chaos, fear, and uncertainty can easily pull us off balance—but peace of mind is not passive. It’s something we must be consistently intentional about.

Our thoughts, emotions, and energy are constantly under pressure from the noise around us. That’s why self-care isn’t selfish—it’s spiritual strategy. Taking time to pray, rest, journal, move your body, or simply breathe deeply aren’t luxuries; they’re survival tools in a world that constantly demands your attention and energy.

A Sound Mind Is a Spiritual Gift

One of my favorite verses in the Bible is 2 Timothy 1:7:

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

Grounding ourselves in this truth allows us to operate in peace, confidence, and clarity—flowing in alignment with the Spirit of the living God. Power, love, and a sound mind are our divine birthrights, but it’s up to us to protect and nurture them.

So today, make a conscious choice to care for your mind and spirit. Self-care isn’t a trend—it’s your declaration that you will not be consumed by fear. You are powerful, you are loved, and your mind is sound.

3 Morning Rituals to Help You Start Your Day Lit

Light + Listen Morning Moment

Before grabbing your phone or diving into the day, take a few minutes to center yourself. Sit outside or open the blinds to welcome natural light. Then breathe deeply, say a prayer, or listen to a positive affirmation or worship song (I start my mornings with a seven-track shuffle from my worship playlist).

Move with Gratitude

Wake your body up with movement that feels good—stretching, dancing, yoga, or a quick walk. As you move, thank God for the strength to rise and the opportunity to begin again.
Movement not only boosts your mood and energy but helps you release any tension or anxiety before it takes root. Gratitude in motion creates harmony between your body and your spirit.

Pour Into Yourself First

Nourish your body, mind, and spirit before pouring into others. Read a short devotion as you enjoy tea, matcha, or warm water with lemon. When you fill your own vessel first, you show up for the world with authenticity, confidence, and joy.

I hope sharing some of my own faith-based self-care sparks ideas to protect your peace, start your day lit with power, love, and a sound mind, and helps you stay grounded, grateful, and glowing—no matter what’s happening around you...STAY LIT & CARRY ON!
